Creating Your Healthy Home
Presentation or Keynote / Approx. 1 Hour with Q&A
An introduction to the importance of a healthy home and the impact it can have on the humans who live in it. Bringing Nature Home
Presentation or Keynote / Approx. 1 Hour with Q&A
An overview of how designing with the elements of nature - Biophilic Design – contributes to both physical and mental health. We define Biophilia and give specific examples of natural and simulated elements including light, air, water, vegetation, materials, colors, views, shapes and forms, and biomimicry that, when incorporated into a home’s interiors, promote health and happiness in human.
Stay Home!
Presentation Approx. 1 Hour with Q&A
A blueprint for updating a home with safety and wellness features that help humans of all ages and abilities live independently long-term. We also redefine and rework the concept of “aging in place” shedding a more positive light on stereotypes that have historically contributed to feelings of hopelessness and the inevitability of decline in older humans.
Note: Redefining and Reworking Aging in Place is also offered as a Keynote
Updating Vintage Interiors
Presentation Approx. 1 Hour with Q&A
Vintage and historic homes have special challenges when it comes to making updates. This is a “how-to” on making sustainable restorations without sacrificing original character. We also talk about maximizing existing space and how to turn awkward, underused basements, attics, and dormers into useful and appealing living, work, and storage spaces.
The Sustainable Home: Reworking interiors using existing space (and stuff)
Presentation Approx. 1 Hour with Q&A
An inventory of a home’s existing rooms and furnishings and an study of how to make the most of both without building on or buying new. Based on the premise that the greenest square foot is the one not built, this proposes creating the kinds of spaces actually needed for a truly functional home vs. holding on to conventional but rarely used rooms, layouts, and furnishings.
Demystifying Color
Presentation or Keynote / Approx. 1 Hour with Q&A
