Pro Kitchen

New tall mudroom cabinets and fat red quartz island top.

Durable oversized metal-look porcelain floor tiles and glass countertops.

Eat-in kitchen reflects client's playful aesthetic.
Design Challenge: A family kitchen with no mudroom.
Solution: Dual-purpose tall cabinets. Facing the dining room, they have interior hooks and bins and shelves for kids’ school and play stuff, a mail and message center, and a charging station for electronics. Facing the kitchen, they house double ovens, a pantry with roll-out shelves and bins, and cookbook shelves.
The peninsula top is a thick slab of engineered stone – red with silver flecks - sustainable, durable, and wow. The floor is porcelain tile in the style of riveted metals. The countertops are glass – stunning, but in hindsight, not recommended. A mix of contemporary and folk art styles show the clients’ personalities.
