The StudioHuman Design Process
Works Like This:
First Meeting
-
We'll walk through your home together and talk about the general parameters of your project and your expectations.
-
You'll have an opportunity to review past projects and ask questions about my design background, experience, process, and fee structure.
-
Based on our first conversation we'll determine whether StudioHuman is a good fit for your project
-
If we agree that we're a fit, we’ll follow up with a design agreement, arrange payment, and schedule the Exploration Meeting
Second Meeting
At this meeting we’ll take measurements and photos, and talk about:
-
All the details of how you live or work in the space and how you use the specific rooms or areas we’ll be transforming
-
The project timeline and your budget
-
How you like and don’t like things in your home to work and to look
-
What furnishings and fixtures you have that you’d like to incorporate into your new space and what new elements you’ll want or need to add
Next Steps:
Design Concept
Next, based on information gathered during Exploration, you'll get:
-
Floor plans and furniture layout options
-
Lighting plan options
-
Color palette options
-
Examples and/or samples of all the design elements we’ll be considering – finishes, surface materials, furnishings, fixtures, fabrics, paints, and anything else that will be a part of your finished project
Design Finalization
Once we've agreed on the Design Concept we will:
-
Review all of the elements of your project together and finalize choices based on your feedback
-
Provide sources and pricing for all physical elements of the project
-
Assist in the selection of project contractor(s) and other design/building professionals
Design Completion
Once the design is finalized and contractors are selected, we will:
-
Review plans and design elements with you and the contractor(s)
-
Monitor ordering, shipping, receiving, delivery and installation of project materials
-
Work with contractor(s) throughout the project to insure work is being completed according to plan
-
Troubleshoot and problem-solve with contractor(s) throughout project
-
Create and follow up on execution of final project punch list
